Big Coastal Storm To Just Miss NJ

A significant coastal storm will drive up the Southeast Coast into Offshore Waters of the East Coast through Wednesday. Expect locally heavy to excessive rain for the Coastal Carolinas and hurricane force winds for the Offshore East Coast Waters.

The surface low pressure system is developing just east of Florida, and is forecast to strengthen rapidly and track northward just east of the Atlantic coastline. This low will spread rain to Florida and the Carolinas today and into the Mid-Atlantic this evening, and the coastal Northeast by tonight. Though the heaviest rainfall totals are expected to remain over water, moderate to heavy rainfall is possible along the Atlantic coast.
